Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride

Updated: Nov 11, 2021

I often think of the Ten of Cups as the ultimate wish fulfillment card. Perfect family balance seems unreasonable and unrealistic. We can dream it. We can work towards it, but as long as we remain flawed and fallible humans, we can't quite achieve it.

This may be one of those "it's all about the journey, not the destination" cards, which is fine. If you're not enjoying the journey, it's time to sell your ticket. Don't take the ride.

In the bigger picture of things, so relevant today. As a society, the Ten of Cups feels truly like an unattainable dream. We have so much inequality and oppression in this country that prides itself on freedom, but it seems only freedom for a very small group: the white, the male, and the wealthy.

Even as I write this, our country is in turmoil. So many are fighting for the greater good; to right these wrongs; to build a better and more equitable future. This may be the most important journey we will ever undertake.

Tower time seems to stretch on and on. Things are crumbling, revealing rot and corruption at their base. I hope we can clear it all away and start fresh; build a strong, loving, truly equal foundation so that our country can rise and become that place that we always wanted it to be. it's going to be a lot of work; a lot of self work, but if we try maybe some day we really can become -

The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave

I love you all.
