In the Victorian language of flowers, the Aster meant "Symbol of Love".

This lovely floral lady was created as part of my Bloom Where You're Planted Oracle Series.

"The Michaelmas daisies, among dead weeds, Bloom for St Michael's valorous deeds ..."

The Archangel Michael is, in Christian angelology, the greatest of all the angels and is credited with defeating Lucifer.

Love can appear in many forms. The love that Lucifer bore for his creator was fickle and dependent on he, Lucifer, being his father's favorite. When Lucifer felt slighted, his love fell away, revealing his selfishness. Michael put his devotion to his father before everything else, trusting in his Creator.

What form does your love take? Is it steadfast and true? Or do you only love as long as your beloved puts you first and sacrifices their own happiness for your wants and needs?

The Aster is the flower of steadfast love in the face of obstacles and difficulties. It's easy to love on a warm summer day when bounty falls from the sky, but when winter darkens your door and difficulties arise, will your love stay true?
