Thought of this during a meditation session. We spend so much time building philosophical foundations on the thoughts of people that have gone before.
 
I get that we shouldn't reinvent the wheel but we shouldn't forgot to think for ourselves. Our own ideas have the most relevance for us, our time, our lives.
